Consulting-Specifying Engineer Presents the 2018 Product of the Year Winners

Downers Grove, Ill.—Consulting-Specifying Engineer has announced the 2018 Product of the Year winners. These 37 individual products—selected by the print and digital audience of Consulting-Specifying Engineer—were culled from a large field of finalists by qualified engineers and building professionals who specify products and systems for nonresidential facilities. Products were released in the 2017 calendar year, nominated in February 2018, and voted on by readers starting in April 2018.

Winners of the 14th annual Consulting-Specifying Engineer Product of the Year awards included a variable frequency drive (VFD), generators, lighting and lighting control products, and several other products and systems. Each of the winning innovations has been designed to improve quality, lengthen lifecycles, and increase efficiencies. Product categories include BAS, controls, energy management; drives, pumps, motors; electrical; emergency, on-site, standby power; fire, life safety, mass notification; HVAC; HVAC: air movement, compressors, etc.; lighting and luminaires; lighting controls; plumbing and water management; software: design, modeling, analysis; and test instruments, meters, data loggers. The 2018 MVP (most valuable product) was awarded to Hunter Industrial Fan for its lightweight industrial fan called ECO. This product received the most audience votes of all the products.
